COMMUNAL RESTAURANT TABLE
Having been hit hard by Hurricane Sandy, the residents of Rockaway, NY found themselves drawn together in their determination and efforts to restore their neighborhood. Rebuilding from their own massive storm damage, the owners of PICO restaurant wanted to encourage the sense of community that had grown stronger in the wake of the natural disaster. They contacted us to provide the material to create a central community table that would continue to draw residents together. Opening one year after being hit by Hurricane Sandy, PICO was warmly received by residents. Local Rockaway blog rockawayist.com says “Pico is the best new restaurant in Rockaway this year….The best spot of all is the communal table in the center of the restaurant.”
