When it comes to architectural elements with aesthetic appeal, box beams are a true standout. Identical to the wood beams that have been used for centuries to provide support and add style to a diverse range of structures – without the weight of a traditional wood beam. Whether you’re considering box beams for a new build or looking to enhance the charm of your existing space, you’re in the right place!.

What Are Box Beams?

“Box Beams” are hollow, real-wood beams that are much lighter in weight and easier to install than standard, solid beams. These hollow, real-wood beams, can be used to cover up electrical wiring or plumbing in an elegant way or can simply serve as a beautiful, natural accent to any home.

Aesthetic Appeal

Box beams possess a timeless beauty that can enhance the appeal of any room or structure. Their design allows for nearly any space to become the center of attention.

We craft our box beams from Eastern White Pine, which provides an added touch of character and warmth to complement your space. Additionally, various surface textures and stains can be applied to further enhance the visual impact of the box beams. The result is a stunning architectural detail that adds warmth, character, and visual interest to any room.

Installation

Nearly anyone can install a box beam, even those of us who aren’t contractors by trade!

  1. Mark the location of your new Box Beam using a pencil or chalkline
  2. Using a stud finder, find the location of the ceiling joists within the installation area
  3. Measure the inside width of your new Box Beam
  4. Fasten a 2x nailer board securely into the ceiling joists using construction screws
  5. Fit and hold your new Box Beam over the 2x board (trim ends to fit securely against walls as necessary)
  6. Using finishing nails, secure your new Box Beam through both sides and into the 2x nailer board
